Game Week Welcome Village

Celebrate the 2016 College Football Classic at Trinity College Dublin, the host of the official Welcome Village.  There is no place we’d rather be in the lead up to the big game!

The Welcome Village will be the official venue for the pep rallies and tailgating,as well as showcasing the very best in Irish food, beverages, crafts, design and attractions. You can expect:

–Entertainment each night, Thursday 1st to Saturday 3rd September, from 6pm to 9pm

– High school marching band parade concluding in Trinity on Thursday 1st September at 5pm

– Pep rallies on Friday 2nd September: Boston College at 3pm and GeorgiaTech at 4.30pm

– Private Book of Kells After-Hours Tour, Friday 2nd September 5pm to 8pm 

–Pre-game tailgates on Saturday 3rd September from 9am to 11am

– Post-game celebrations from 5pm to 10pm on Saturday 3rd September

What is Tailgating?

The be all and end all of any good match in the States, tailgating is the timeless tradition of partying in the car park before kick-off. More often than not it involves the open tailgate of a pick-up, a BBQ grill and a few cold ones.

Waterford Crystal

Located on the Mall in the heart of the Viking Triangle in Waterford City, the House of Waterford Crystal brings a visit to Waterford to a whole new level. One of the last working mills in Ireland, Foxford was founded by an Irish Sister of Charity in 1892 and overcame many challenges over the years, in order to survive.

Today, Foxford is a thriving working mill, visitor centre and cafe, employing over 40 people and allowing a tradition spanning thousands of years to survive and flourish. Foxford quality pieces are valued all over the world, and are respected for their heritage. Traditionally the Foxford blanket was passed down through Irish families, and represented the best in quality and craftsmanship.


The Rye River Brewing Company is Ireland’s number one indigenous and independently owned brewery. The Rye River Brewing Company has created their own unique family brand of small brew beers known as McGargles.

The National Leprechaun Museum

The National Leprechaun Museum is not just a museum in the normal sense, but a storytelling experience celebrating the vast landscape of Irish mythology. You will be guided through the space in small groups by one of our story tellers. There you’ll hear fantastic tales about a variety of curious creatures, interact with the different spaces and engage your senses. Please remember to bring your fun and imaginative self!

Subsequently, The Irish Craft Beer Collective was formed as the flagship group for what is intended as an annual export programme.
